CBD Label Requirements

CBD Dogs

Before you go to print, it's a good idea to make sure your CBD product label includes all of the required information. It's a lot and makes the design process more than a little challenging, but once it's done, it's done. Better this than getting a love letter from the FDA.

  • Brand Name
  • What's Inside
  • Full Spectrum, Broad Spectrum, Isolate
  • Dosage (Ingestible)
  • Instructions
  • Ingredients
  • Expiration Date
  • Batch Identifier
  • QR Code (Link to Product COA)
  • Weight
  • Dosage (Ingestible)
  • Supplement Panel (Ingestible)
  • FDA Disclaimer
  • Warnings (Do not use if pregnant, Keep away from kids, etc.)
  • Company name, address, phone, website
  • UPC (Bar Codes) are optional, but necessary if you plan to sell in most stores.

Last I checked QR codes are not required in every state, but the industry is leaning that direction. Some info can also be printed on outer boxes or pouches thus freeing up real estate for you product label design. I'll see if I can dig up a direct link to the FDA criteria next.

It's a fast moving industry despite the government dragging their feet, so it's always best to check your state label requirements as well as the FDA's.
